A SUNFLOWER FIELD, AN HOUR DRIVE, AND A PASTURE.
Majeste and Will had their hearts set on a sunflower field in Virginia — the kind of backdrop that feels made for a couples session. We packed up and made the hour drive from Lynchburg with nothing but good vibes and high expectations.
We got there, and it was closed for the season.
We were not going to give up on this session, so we kept driving. A few miles down the road we spotted a gorgeous open pasture with the most beautiful views — rolling land, big sky, golden light. The only problem? It was on private property, gated, and home to a whole herd of cows. We pulled over and debated what to do next.
So we knocked on the door and asked the family if we could shoot in their pasture. Without hesitation, they said yes — walked us right back and unlocked the gate themselves.
A stunning mountain range stretching across the horizon, curious cows roaming the pasture, and a sunset that was like no other. It was one of those sessions you just can't plan — you can only be lucky enough to stumble into it.
Majeste and Will, thank you for rolling with every twist and turn this day threw at us. These images are proof that the best things happen when you stop holding onto the plan.
